Welcome to 2014

In Times Square, in the city of New York, in the state of New York, a ball just dropped. A big, fancy ball covered in lights. It wasn’t the first one tonight, nor will it be the last. They repeat the ritual for every time zone in the United States. Knowing that kind of takes the magic out of the whole thing, doesn’t it? That’s good, now you’re thinking straight. Welcome to 2014.

My name is David. Some may know me as editor of Dark Futures. I’ll definitely be talking about that some in this blog. If you’re interested in the inner workings of an amateur literary zine, this is probably a good blog to read. I’ll let people peak behind the curtain from time to time. I also write, myself. A little bit, anyway. I’ve been getting better about putting more and more time into that. That’s another thing this blog is for. Keeping me focused.

Don’t worry, this isn’t any of that “new year, new me” crap. I wouldn’t waste your time with that. This is something that I’ve already been working toward for quite a long time. Starting this blog is just the next step in that. I chose to start it on January 1st because things look nice when they start at the beginning of the year.
